The website can't find the beID Helper, even though it's installed

You've installed the beID Helper, but a website still reports it can't be found. This usually comes down to one of four causes.

1. Is the beID Helper actually running?

Look at the bottom-right of your taskbar (near the clock) for the beID Helper icon. If it's not there, the helper isn't running — install or restart it via the download page.

2. Does your browser have local network access?

Since late 2025, Chrome and Edge ask for explicit permission to reach 127.0.0.1 (where the helper listens). Did you get that prompt and deny it by mistake? See Allow local network access.

3. Is a firewall or antivirus blocking the connection?

Some firewalls or antivirus tools block local connections on unusual ports by default. Allow connections to 127.0.0.1 on port 17654 (the port the beID Helper listens on).

4. Test the connection directly

Use our test page to immediately see whether your browser can reach the helper, independent of the website you were using. If the test works but the original website doesn't, contact that website — it may be using an outdated integration.
